Compotes/Stewed fruit

Stewed fruit is prepared fresh, dried or frozen berries, pour sugar syrup or honey.

The cooking time depends on the kind of stewed fruit you use. For example, pears and apples cook over low heat about 35-40 minutes, while other fruits only 15-20 minutes.

It is very important that the fruit remains whole after boiling.

The compote is a delicious and vitamin drink, refreshing in summer and winter therapeutics.

Compotes are served after about 10-12 hours of preparation, so they have enough time to flavor and fruit to insiropeze.

Frozen fruit compotes and more will come out tasty, if in they will add some fruit proapsete (eg. Those citrus) or vanilla, cinnamon, cloves etc.

Pear compote ingredients:

  • 1 kg pears
  • 700 ml of water
  • 200 g sugar
  • 1 sachet vanilla sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice


Wash pears, peel them and stone box, then cut them into slices.
In a saucepan put water and pears.
Place the heat and allow to cook approx. 10 minutes.
Add vanilla sugar, sugar and lemon juice and cook for another 5 minutes.
When cool you can put in the refrigerator until serving.

Peaches Ingredients:

  • 750 g peaches
  • 500 ml water
  • 150 g sugar
  • 1 sachet vanilla sugar
  • 5 ml lemon juice

Boil water with sugar and vanilla sugar.
It begins to boil add the pitted peaches cut into 2 or 4.
Cook about 5 minutes, allow to cool and then add lemon juice.

Cherry compote
(Recipe for older children 9 months)

Cherry compote ingredients:

  • 1 kg cherries
  • 250 g sugar
  • 600 ml water
  • 1 sachet vanilla sugar


Cherries rinse thoroughly.
It removes the stem and remove seeds.
Boil water with sugar and vanilla sugar for 8-10 minutes.

Apricots compote
(Recipe for children older than 7 months)

Ingredients for apricot compote:

  • 500 ml water
  • 1 sachet vanilla sugar
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice


Boil water, sugar, vanilla and pitted apricots, cut into four.
Boil gently heat, 4-5 min, then so cold compote and add lemon juice.

(Recipe for children older than 6 months)

Ingredients for applesauce:

  • 1 kg apples
  • 600 ml water
  • 150 g sugar
  • 1 sachet vanilla sugar
  • one teaspoon lemon juice


Wash apples and peel, cut in four, they remove the seed box, then cut into slices.
Meanwhile, put the fire water, sugar and vanilla, and when given the boil, add chopped apples, boil under lid on low heat.
After boiling, add lemon juice.
